Description

The Crow, legendary being whose cry is heard by the gods.
Appears in History each time the tempest is upon humanity, as a capricious mediator between the divine and terrenal planes.
In this Microcosmos, with it's own history and mythology, the apparition of the winged black figure of the crow, marks a turning point in the destiny of humanity and the gods.
The Prometheic Crow, who gave sustent and life to the ancient humans; the Obsidian Crow, who defended the Cem Anahuac from the calamity of the Black Mountain; The Caramel and Obsidian Crows, sworn enemies of the Heavenly Tyrants.
Fifth and last illustration of my crow genealogy series.
Some believe time is cyclical, and history is destined to repeat eventually.
Some may see in the past a reflection of our own present, and where heroes arose to stop calamity, they will rise again to bring down the tyrants that control this rotten world.
But is it really time a cycle? Will the new heroes succeed just as their predecesors?
When the will of the gods clash, there's no certainty in the future to come.

Donaji & Itzcacalotl stood for their land, behind them the Huey Teocalli stands mighty. But time passed, destruction came in the form of conquest, and the great temple got replaced by a christian Cathedral. Two new crows now stand upon it, but their objectives may not be the same as the ancient heroes, as there's no mother land worth fighting for anymore.

I wanted it to look like the floor was wet because of the rain, and Capri and Camilo were reflections of Donaji and Itzcacalotl, but I think I probably failed at that.
I'm quite happy with this though.
Hope you like it!

Es inspirador. Retoma muchos temas de la cosmovisión mesoamericana y a la vez expone mucho del proyecto general.

Y bueno, creo que no se ve como reflejo uno del otro por efecto de las dos perspectivas.
