Released Energy - Abstract Self Portrait

Second painting of the series I did in school.
This time we had to break appart from the first self portrait and do an abstract painting. I'm not a huge fan of abstract art, and it's certainly something I don't quite enjoy painting that much (even though it's great to experiment on textures and techniques).
I realized that if this was supposed to be the abstract version of my self portrait, by losing the form that contains the essence, all the energy would get released into some kind of supernova. So I did this.
I kinda liked it, even though my teacher heavily criticized it for being too similar to the first self portrait. I couldn't care less though.

This is probably the first abstract piece I ever upload on deviantART.
