THE FIRST TIME THE ANIMATION RUNS IT SLOWS DOWN, AFTER THAT IT WILL RUN AT NORMAL SPEED // LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE LA ANIMACIÓN CORRE SE ALENTARÁ, DESPUÉS DE ESTO CORRERÁ A UNA VELOCIDAD NORMAL

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before I say anything... I must say I'm VERY happy with this as my very first atempt at 3D animation of characters.

Well, this is Regulus, from Bomberman 64, one of my favourite characters of this game, which happends to be my first game ever.
That's why I decided to do a 3D model of him. It was a bit difficult since the game is not very well known, so it was hard to find official pictures of Regulus, in good quality, and showing him in different poses.

Anyway, I'm really happy with the results at my modeling, also the animation, and the overall quality in lights, shadows, etc.

This was made mainly on Autodesk Maya 2010, I also used ZBrush 4 for the icy platform and AfterEffects CS4 to export the animation.

Since it's my first 3D animation ever, I would REALLY apreciate some critique! :D

It is a fact that I'll keep doing 3D stuff

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a long time since I've seen this and I still think it's amazing! Before, I didn't know how you did all this but seeing that I've been been actually been through the 3D classes since I last commented, I kind of know what you did now!!

The lighting is really nice and the ice surrounding the character actually looks like ice! The animation on the character is nice and smooth and I like how the whole environment spins around so people can see the whole character. Have you done any other Bomberman characters since or ever thought about doing another?

I should try my hand at modeling and animating a character from Bomberman...

Glad you actually took the time to review this once again!

No, I haven't done any more bomberman characters at all, not even fanart from other series whatsoever, it is the fact that Regulus was special to me that I did this. I don't know if I'll ever do another Bomberman character... maybe Sirius, but I'm more eager with the idea of maybe re doing this Regulus; I'm much better at using maya now and I believe I could do something much more complex.
This was the first true proyect I did in 3D, and this is the last I did: vimeo.com/100815158
You can clearly see the improvement :D

If you ever do I would like to have a look, please send me a link if you do ;D

As an individual whose N64 days basically consist of Bomberman games, I have to say well done. Regulus is definitely one of my favorite character in the game, same goes The Second Attack when he is powered as an Astral Knight with the Shadow Stone in possession.

I love the 3D model man, well done indeed

Thanks so much!
Bomberman 64 was in fact the first videogame I ever had, and yeah, most of my N64 experience was Bomberman games, and Regulus was definetly my favourite character.

Man. Regulus was so cool, for I believe he was the greatest rival Bomberman ever had. To me, Bomberman 64 was not just the best Bomberman game ever, but really my favorite N64 game too. I wish the series would return, along with a remake of Bomberman 64 for the 3DS.

Indeed it must, it would be so amazing to see an adventure game like the 64 ones on the N3DS

Yes, with a play system nearly just like the first Bomberman 64. BM64: The Second Attack felt kind of dumbed down.
