Gods, as a reflection of the human surroundings and context, are the very incarnation of conflict.
History of the divine in Mexico is a story of conflicts where a "pacific syncretism" is a mere illusion, one to perpetuate domination and colonialism. The indigenous people and their gods, forsaken by the world, continue their resistance with struggle but dignity even today.
